What is Athlete’s Foot?

Athlete’s Foot is the most common type of fungal foot infection – also called Tinea Pedis. It usually begins between the toes and commonly occurs in people whose feet have become very sweaty while confined within tight fitting shoes or going barefoot in places like a locker room. The fungus can also spread to the toenails or hands. It is contagious. Symptoms include a scaly rash that usually causes itching, stinging and burning.
